Whether you are a first time landlord or have been in the business for several years this workshop is designed for you. The two day training is designed to teach property owners, property managers, resident managers and realtors about how to reduce crime in and around rental properties, as well as how to establish and maintain a stable rental environment.

There are also concerns about mercury and the disposal of these fluorescent bulbs. Typically, CFLs contain 5mg of mercury vapor. That’s a very small amount when you consider that most household thermometers contain about 500mg of liquid mercury. But, when it comes to disposal, users should take care and recycle spent bulbs rather than deposit them in the garbage. While it’s not illegal to dispose of the CFLs in standard household trash, the industry does recommend recycling. Marion County Public Works Environmental Services has an approved drop off site at the Salem/Keizer Recycling and Transfer Station at 3250 Deer Park Road. They will accept a limit of 10 bulbs per household per visit.
